Confused on keywords

on the keywords is the directory supposed to pick thos up automatically?...or do the need to each be added?

Are you talking about the keywords in the meta tags or the ones from the keywords list function of the directory?
The first ones are not used, the only meta tags used are the meta titles and the meta description. Very few search engines if any index meta keywords today so there is no need to have them.
The keywords keywords from the alphabetical list bloc are only associated to the links added in the directory and they have to be added one by one. The suggested keywords when links are submitted also have to be added manually before to approve the links.

yes it does, at first I had it set for them not to show, next question how important do you think the keywords are?


If I do not use them how can I stop google from indexing them, seems google was indexing them when they were set not to show

Search engines index the content in the pages and I am quite sure the keywords in the meta tags are useless.
How can Google index something that doesn't exist? I am not sure I understand what you mean

see if this shows it, when this was indexed keywords were turned off in settings, but it still indexed them
