How to add a new field

The feature list for v.2 says that admins can add additional fields. I cannot find any info about how to accomplish this? Can you help?

Extra fields depend of the category, so you find it in the admin panel, on the left categories management.
if categories already exist, you must edit them.

no possibility to add for all the categories, except on the database with a sql request

Are you saying that there is an option in the admin menu system somewhere? I have searched every option and cannot find it.

Or, do I need to edit a php file to create a new field?

in admin panel
manage categories, then edit a category

then in the middlez of the screen add extra fields fieldset

You can use the Custom Fields Plugin if you want to add your own fields. This does not mess with core and therefore does not mess with your upgrade track.
